A Case for a January 1st Start Date for the Personal
Year
There is a
disagreement in Numerology over when the Personal Year begins. Depending upon
what Numerology book you read, you will find some who teach a January 1st start
date and others who teach that the Personal Year begins on your birthday. This
issue can be a great source of frustration for a person studying Numerology.
Ultimately, as a Numerologist, you have to choose between the two options. If you look at Chinese Astrology , each persons Personal Year begins on a fixed date, the Chinese New Year.

Your clients
are your greatest teachers because they are living proof of the numbers you see
reflected in their Numerology Chart. It is through careful listening skills
that you will come to your own conclusion as to when the Personal Year begins.
You cannot come to a conclusion based upon one day in a person’s
Personal Year but have to look at the entire year in question as a whole.
What is the theme of their year and what are they experiencing? Some would say
that major events happen after the Birthday as evidence of when the Personal
Year begins but logically you have a 100% chance of something happening before
or after your Birthday. It is not conclusive evidence. Another factor that is
important to remember is that a Personal Year builds in intensity and is in
full effect during the middle 7 months. I refer you to the following:

Method: Month+Day+Universal Year /Timing of Personal Year: Jan. 1st through
Dec. 31st
It is
equally important to understand all the information being provided by a
person’s Numerology Chart in the 1st place. There are other factors in a
person’s Numerology Chart that add to the equation and have influence on the
experiences of your client and must be considered when looking at any given
year in a person’s life. Each year a person is not only being influenced by the
Personal Year energy but also by the Essence Number, the Transits and even the
Personal Months. There is no dispute among Numerologists as to when the
Essences and Transits begin. They do begin on your Birthday. These
powerful numbers can cause significant events in a person’s life and must be
read in conjunction with the Personal Year Number in order to be accurate.
They also can create conflict with the understanding of the Personal Year
Number meaning.
* An example
would be a person in a 4 Personal Year but this person also has an A
Transit. In a 4 Personal Year, you would not expect a job change but the
A Transit indicates a new opportunity such as a job change which would
significantly affect the future, such as the case with my husband in 2014.
The Essence
Numbers are also very telling and do not necessarily agree with the meaning of
the Personal Year. They add information to understand what Numerical influences
are present in a person’s life at any given time. The Essence Numbers
also begin on a person’s Birthday.
When the
Essence Number and the Personal Year Number match at any given time in a
person’s life, it intensifies the energy and usually is an indication of a
difficult year.
To fully
understand what energy is influencing a person in any year, you must look at
the Essences, Transits and the Personal Year Number as a whole. By not doing
so, you are missing out on the full picture and leaving out important
information that applies to your client.
I cannot use
the 1000s of examples of validation for when the Personal Year begins from my
clients due to client confidentiality. I have provided a list of people in the
news or with celebrity status as examples. With that being said, a Personal
Year for anyone encompasses 365 days with experiences that go beyond what you
can research on the internet or what becomes public knowledge.
Joshua Aaron
McNary (April 10, 1988) is an American football linebacker and special
teamer for the Indianapolis Colts. On 1/14/15 he was charged with a felony rape
and taken into custody. This happened prior to his birthday. Based upon a
January 1st start date, he is in a 4 Personal Year and his Essence Number
at this time is a 4. The number 4 is strongly associated with law and order If
I used a Birthday to Birthday start date for the Personal Year, he would be in
a 3 Personal Year. The 4 Personal Year makes sense in this case because you
must follow the law in a 4 Year. The fact he had a 4 Essence at the time of his
arrest, coupled with his 4 Personal Year intensified the 4 energy. Whenever
your Essence Number and your Personal Year match, it usually indicates a
difficult year.
Margaret
LeAnn Rimes (August 28, 1982) is an American country and pop singer. On
August 29th, 2012 she checked into a treatment facility for anxiety and stress.
Based upon a January 1st start date, she was in a 5 Personal Year. Her
Essence number at that time was also a 5. Her Essence Number matched her
Personal Year Number which always indicates a difficult or profound year.
The 5 also signals a time for change and perhaps is what prompted her to
seek help. She sought help in a 4 Personal Month based upon her 5
Personal Year. The 4 emphasizes health.
Lupe
Ontiveros Guadalupe "Lupe" Ontiveros (September 17, 1942 –
July 26, 2012) was an American film and television actress. She died prior to
her Birthday in 2012 and her Essence Number was a 4. Based upon a January1st
start date of the Personal Year, she was in a 4 Personal Year at the time of
her death. A 4 Personal Year has strong implications for health. The Essence
Number matched the Personal Year Number intensifying the energy of the 4.
If you used a Birthday to Birthday start date for her Personal Year in

At the time of her death she had a 4 Essence Number and based upon a January 1st start

matched. The 4 Personal Years can place emphasis on health and it goes without

Roger Joseph
Ebert (June 18, 1942 – April 4, 2013) was an American film critic,
journalist, and screenwriter. He died prior to his birthday in June. He had a 3
Essence Number at the time of his death and based upon a January 1st start
date, he was in a 3 Personal Year. The Essence Number and the Personal Year
Number matched which points to the difficulty of that year for him.
Janis Lyn
Joplin ( January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American singer-songwriter who
first rose to fame in the late 1960s. At the time of her death, her 1
Essence Number matched her 1 Personal Year Number based upon a January 1st start
date. Her transits are quite telling at the time of her death because she
was at the 5th year of an I Transit which is an indication of endings and
completions. She also had double N Transits. * From Speaking to Your Soul
through Numerology p. 134 Double Ns can indicate sudden and unexpected
events as well as being accident prone. In this case, regardless of when
you calculated the start of her Personal year, she would have been in a 1
Personal Year. A Numerologist would not expect a person to die in a 1
Personal Year however there is no absolute especially when you take the Transits
and Essences into consideration. She was also 27 years old at the time of
her death 2+7=9 which is another indication of endings and completions.
Aaron Michael
Hernandez (born November 6, 1989) is a former American football
player who is currently being held without bail following his indictment
on three murder charges. On August 22, 2013, Hernandez was indicted by a grand
jury for the murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player. His
Essence number in 2013 was a 5 and based upon a January 1st start date, he
was in a 5 Personal Year at the time. The Essence Number matched the
Personal Year Number. There is no question 2013 was a difficult year for
him. In this case, the 5 represents loss of freedom and change. August was
a 4 Personal Month for him based upon a January 1st start date and the 4
has strong implications for law and order.
Arlen Specter (February
12, 1930 – October 14, 2012) was a United States Senator from
Pennsylvania. He died after his February Birthday but his Essence
Number at the time of his death was a 1 and based upon a January 1st start
date, he was in a 1 Personal Year. The Essence Number matched the Personal Year
Number. He also had double E Transits at the time of his death which indicate a
change or a sudden and unexpected event. . In this case, regardless
of when you calculated the start of her Personal year, he would have been in a
1 Personal Year. We would not expect a person to die in a 1 Personal Year
however this case proves that there is no absolute.

Hook Elementary School shooting occurred on December 14, 2012 which leads
up to the death of Adam Peter Lanza (April 22, 1992 – December
14, 2012) . He died after his Birthday however his Essence Number was a 4 at
the time of his death and based upon a January start date his Personal Year at
the time of his death was a 4. The Essence Number matched the Personal Year
Number. It goes without question; this was a profound event in his life
which is usually the case when this occurs in a person’s Numerology Chart.
Malinda Gayle
"Mindy" McCready (November 30, 1975 – February 17, 2013)
died before her Birthday by suicide. At the time of her death she had a 2
Essence and was in a 2 Personal Year based upon a January 1st start date.
The Essence Number matched the Personal Year Number which intensified the 2
energy at the time. The number 2 can be associated with anxiety, stress and
depression. If you used a Birthday to Birthday start date for the Personal
Year, she would have been in a 1 Personal Year and the double 2 energy would
not be present. Also, The 2 makes more sense in this case.
Isaiah
Charles Austin (born October 25, 1993) is an American basketball player
who completed his college career for the Baylor Bears in 2014. He had
been considered a first-round prospect in the 2014 NBA draft until he
was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome in June of 2014 prior to his Birthday.

date, he was in a 6 Personal Year. The 6 does have health implications.

Joshua Caleb
Gordon (born April 13, 1991) is an American football wide
receiver for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football
League (NFL). He was drafted by the Browns in the second round of the 2012
NFL Supplemental Draft. On July 5, 2014, Gordon was arrested for driving
while impaired in Raleigh, North Carolina.
On August 27,
2014, Gordon acknowledged that the NFL suspended him for 1 year for violating
the league's substance-abuse policy On September 19, 2014; his suspension
was reduced to 10 games amidst the new NFL drug policy. Gordon was officially
reinstated on November 17.
On December
27th, 2014, the Browns suspended Gordon from the final game of the 2014 season
due to a violation of team rules. Gordon only played 5 games in 2014. Since the
NFL requires players to play 6 games in a season to qualify for unrestricted
free agency, Gordon entered the off season as a restricted free agent.

On June 29, 2012, his wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce from him which was shortly after his Birthday. At the time of his birthday, Tom Cruise had a 6 Essence Number and was in a 6 Personal Year based upon a January 1st start date which intensified the energy of the 6. The 6 Personal Year is associated with marriage and divorce.

His Essence Number at the time was a 22 which came in on his Birthday. A 22 means international and large scale business. A 1 points to events that significantly change your future. This is a case of the Essence Number was a catalyst for an event.

He died prior to his birthday by being struck by a train while filming. Based upon a January 1st start date, he was in a 4 Personal Year. This is a case where the Transits and Essences are quite important. He had a 5 Essence. He had an E, I and a R Transit at the time of his death. 5 is a number that is associated with accidents. The E is a 5. The I and R are 9s and he was at the 5th year of the 9 Transits. The 5th year has strong association with endings and completions. Also, based upon a January 1st start date, he was in a 5 Personal Month in January which again, relates to accidents.
John McCain ( 8/29/36) formally announced his intention to run
for President of the United States on April 25, 2007. Based upon a January 1st
start date, that would have been a 1 Personal Year for him. His Essence Number at the time was 22 which indicates large scale international opportunities.
Based upon a Birthday to Birthday start date, On April 25, 2007
he would have been in a 9 Personal Year. 9 is not associated with new
beginnings but the 1 is. This case supports a January 1st start date to the Personal Year.

His Essence Number was a 9 at the time of his death. If you were to consider the birthday as the start of the Personal Year, then he would have been in a 1 Personal Year.
Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz (born November 28, 1962) is the host of the Daily Show. In February 2015, he announced he would be leaving the show. This is a case where the Transits are very telling. On his Birthday in 2014, he moved to an A Physical Transit which points to a new development and can represent a decision that is made that strongly effects the future. At the same time, he moved into a T Mental Transit which can represent a job change or a major move of some kind. He also has an E Spiritual Transit that indicates change or a desire for freedom.
Robert Matthew Van Winkle (born October 31, 1967), better known as Vanilla Ice, is an American rapper, actor and television host. In February 2015 he was arrested and charged with burglary residence and grand theft. This occurred prior to his October birthday. Based upon a Jan. 1st start date, he is in a 4 Personal Year. There is no question that the 4 year requires you to follow the law and if you break the rules, you will get caught.
Harris Lee Wittels (April 20, 1984 – February 19, 2015) was an American actor, comedian, writer, producer, musician and was Parks and Recreation Executive Director. The cause of death was suspected drug overdose. Based upon a Jan. 1st start date, he was in a 5 Personal Year. It is important to note his Expression Number was 14/5 which can be an indication for overindulgence and addictions and being in a 5 Personal Year can place emphasis on it.

It is unfortunate that Numerologists do not agree upon when the Personal Year
begins and as I said, it can be exceedingly frustrating for anyone who studies
